A while ago when ever I went to a micro brewery I would have everyone order the sampler, then together we would taste each beer and I would write down everyone's first impression. This is the result of those sessions. The *=favorite.

Monte Carlo Brew Pub-Las Vegas, NV

Belgian Whit
*Jen-Sweet, lots of flavor, sweeter the wheat beer.
Suze-Wheat-like

Barley Wine
Jen-Molasis taste
Suze-Hoppy with something else

Winners Wheat
Jen-(It seems I didn't write down her response)
Suze (After removing the fruit)-Nice color. Not a flavorful as other wheats.

Silverstate South
Jen-Coffee flavor
Suze-Very coffee

Las Vegas Lite
Jen-can't decide (not her favorite)
Suze-Upscale Bud
Later both of us agreed the flavor sank to the bottom

Jackpot Pale Ale
Jen-Like Sam
Suze-Nice bite

High Roller Red
Jen-Woody, nice color.
*Suze-Woody, not as strong as other reds.

Nick-Light
Suze-Not strong flavor

Santa Rosa Red
Nick-ok
Suze-Nice bute,but not strong

Santa Cruz Cream Ale
Nick-Mild
*Suze-Smooth

Pierpoint IPA
Nick-Bitter taste
Suze-Strong Bite-hoppy
Neither of us like this one much at all.

Espresso Stout
*Nick-different-it's coffee beer!
Suze-strong coffee flavor


Santa Barbara Brewing Company-Santa Barbara, CA

Suze, Cathy, Scott and Christian

White Star
Cathy-Nice, little bitter, lightish
Christian-Floats contentedly towards the gizzards
Scott-Bitter, too much like a canoe beer. (Though later he said the last sip was better.)
Suze-Has a bite, but a nice bite

Amber Larger
We all agreed it had a nice head
*Cathy-Lemony or citrusy, smooth, summery
*Christian-nothing bitter, smooth with an undertone of citrus and a long living foam.
Scott-Thick and Heavy
Suze-goes down easy

Rincon Red
Cathy-Little bite with a bit of edge
Christian-Bananas and whipped cream-smooth as can be
Scott-goes down easy, fruity
*Suze-Yummy hint of something fruity, way too smooth

Pacific Pale Ale
Cathy-Wheaty, good breakfast of champions
Christian-nice copper color-hop on pop
Scott-Doesn't look pale, intense, like root beer and a raw egg with breakfast
Suze-hoppy

Santa Barbara Blonde
Cathy-Smooth and light, not a bitter aftertaste, like a super premium Heineken
Christian-Creamy-Two Buck Chuck of beers
Scott-Looks wheaty, tastes bananay
Suze-Smoother than expected with a light after bite

Gold Coast Wheat
Cathy (after sqeezing in the Lemon)-Tastes like lemon with tons of bananas
Christian (after eating the lemon)-Not that bananay-just a perceptive touch
*Scott (Didn't get a lemon)-like the banana because it was different
Suze (Removed the lemon)-Pretty good, couldn't taste the banana.

Belgian Triple Point
Cathy-Wow, pie, spiced pie, sweet and spiced, but not bad pie
Christian (Made the yucky face)-Bitter across the pallet
Scott-tasty edge and would make a good dessert beer.
Suze-BITE!

State Street Stout
Cathy-Paint thinner and coffee (But she liked it)
Christian-Coffee, chocolate and oatmeal
Scott-needs cream and sugar
Suze-Coffee, smooth for a stout

Brew House Blonde
Scott-It's smooth with a bite, but too close to store bought...nothing special.
Suze-light, yet smooth

Harvest Hefeweizen
Scott-hint of banana, with more cloves.
Suze-smelled good, but it is brewed with banana cloves.

Piranha Pale Ale
Scott-Tasted like grapefruit
Suze-Appropriately named for it's bite, but it had s slight sweetness.

Jeremiah Red
Scott-Fruity dessert beer
Suze-Not as red as I''m used to, slight bite.

PM Porter
Scott-Tasted like chocolate soda
Suze-Chocolatey and smooth

Tatonlda Stout
Scott-Tart Bite
Suze-no Guinness, but what is, good with a nice head.

Special Brew-Whitecap Wood
*Scott-Tasted like hard lemonade flavored with banana
*Suze-Fruity and smooth
